How Volunteering Works at Findley
Whether you have an hour a year or an hour a week, there’s a place for you. Here’s the whole process:
1. Get approved. All school volunteers must complete the Beaverton School District background check before helping in classrooms or at events. It’s quick, free, and valid for [two years / district renewal period].
2. Pick something. Browse current opportunities and grab a shift or role that fits your life either on ParentSquare or the Volunteer Hub
3. Show up. Event leads will send any details you need beforehand. Some roles (like Art Literacy) include a short training — it’ll be noted in the sign-up.
Ways to Help
- One-time shifts — Carnival, Book Fair, Field Day, Dragon Dash. Perfect for unpredictable schedules.
- Committees — Help plan an event or program. A few hours a month with friendly people.
- Committee leads & board roles — Ready for more? This is the best way to shape what the PTO does. Handoff notes and support provided — you won’t start from scratch. Email us to connect! [Insert Info email address when obtained]
Open Roles
Grade Leaders
A parent or parent team who help communicate needs between teachers and families. May be responsible for coordinating class parties three times per year (Winter, Valentine’s, and Year-End).
Time Commitment: 3 hours or less 3x per year.
Training Needed: None

PTO Board – Vice President
Serve as Lead Project Manager; stand in for President when needed; prepare to step in as President beginning 2027 School Year.
Time Commitment: 1 hour per week.
Training Needed: No training needed prior; training provided

Volunteer FAQ
Can I bring younger siblings? Generally, no. Beaverton School District does not allow siblings on campus during school hours for safety reasons. Please consider volunteering from home or during one of our many after hours opportunities if you would still like to help.
How many hours do I have to commit? As many or as few as you are able. You can help in school or off campus, during day time or after hours. There are many ways you can help!
What if I sign up and can’t make it? Life happens! Cancel through your sign-up link or email the event lead as soon as you know so we can fill the spot.
I want to help but can’t come during school hours. Plenty of roles are evenings, weekends, or from home (outreach, prep work, counting Dragon Dash donations). Please review the opportunities and if you don’t see anything, you’re welcome to reach out to us and we can match you with something that works for you.
